Installation Guide

1. Surface Preparation

Begin by thoroughly cleaning the application area, ensuring it is free from dust, grease, oil, or any other residues.

If the surface is painted, use a chipping hammer to chip the walls, enhancing adhesion for the tiles.

2. Mixing the Perlite and Cement

Mix 2 kg of Perlite with 7 kg of cement in a 4.5:1 volume-based ratio. Add water until the mixture achieves a plaster-like consistency.

For wall cladding, replace water with a bonding liquid for improved adhesion.

Important: Do not add other aggregates, as this will compromise heat resistance

3. Application

Spread the Perlite and cement mixture onto the prepared surface, ensuring a base thickness of at least 16mm.

Place the Braai Tiles directly on the applied base in your chosen pattern, without any gaps between the tiles.

4. Coverage and Quantity

A 2 kg bag of Perlite covers approximately 1 square metre at a 25mm thickness.

Each square metre requires 52 Braai Tiles.

Heat Resistance

Braai Tiles, combined with the Perlite/cement mix at a 16mm thickness, is known to prevent heat penetration up to 1250°C.
